Yaacov Evron wanted to be a cowboy. He came all the way from cold Romania to the “holy land”, to save himself and only himself, from the horrors at that time.
Gunslinger, is based on a photograph which Yaacov sent to his lover in 1917, to Romania, when he first came to Israel.
In that photograph he’s sitting on a fake horse with a fake cowboy uniform and a fake gun, he’s 16 years old.

It seems like horrors are here to stay, and the cowboy is no longer a fantasy.
