Only You, 2025
The work fuses readymade death animations from video games with choreographed movements, setting them against Elvis Presley's "Only You" to create a profound dissonance. Through these predetermined "death sequences," the piece reveals how images of warfare have become objects of nostalgia, while simultaneously deconstructing our cultural consumption of both romantic mythology and digitized violence.
The white suit, worn by an Israeli Elvis impersonator for two decades of performances, stands as a temporal bridge in this digital landscape. Through this resurrection in virtual space, the artist excavates how contemporary culture commodifies both intimacy and mortality. The work confronts us with the paradox of our mediated existence, where authentic gestures of love and death are endlessly reproduced, sanitized, and transformed into consumable digital artifacts.
