Sonata for a Machine, 2022

In this sculpture, a love song written for the machine is translated into Morse code, dictating the sonata’s rhythm and blurring the line between emotion and mechanicalness. The machine betrays its original function and is transformed into an emotional and historical object that reacts to physical proximity and communicates with its surroundings. The photographical apparatus emulates mechanisms of war, revealing a romanticism conveyed to the viewer through frequencies of light and sound.

Sculpture; Wood, iron, Arduino, movement sensor, LED lights

The work was exhibited as part of Time Space, a group exhibition by Bush Collective at the Edmond de Rothschild
